Flip-Flop

The girls started taking tumbling in the fall and they LOVE it! They have taken a few tumbling sessions in the past, but this year they have really started taking it seriously because they want to be able to do the 'cool tricks'. Isabel looks more like a slinky than a girl most days...she is very bendy in the middle! Ashlen can get down into the splits in the blink of an eye, but her middle section is a little more 'sturdy' than Isabel's, so she struggled with the backbends a bit. The other day, she told me with confidence that she could do it all by herself. I refused to let her try without a spot, but after a few I realized she was correct...here is her backbend debut:
She is pumping herself up for the big bend!!!

Gotta kick off the shoes (another story for another time):

Here she goes...

And......

Success!!!

But, she is not done yet...she wants to try for the kick-over:

Off to a good start...

But, the height just isn't there...

And the flip is a flop, but the bend was awesome sweetie!!!

If you scroll back up to the top and scroll down quickly it works as a 'flip book'...
pun intended, of course! :)

Actually, it took me over an hour to do this one...I am having no luck with this site, even on Firefox!!! I had to upload one photo at a time, and getting everything arranged was a whole other battle! Oh well! :)

Awesome pictures. I also like the "cartoon" affect;) Yeah, I sometimes used to have problems with blogger too uploading pictures. Takes FOREVER sometimes. Hope all is well with everyone and things are still going good at MJHS despite the lay-offs;) Love the updates!

awww cute! All she needs to do is push her weight over her shoulders and hold it there when she kicks and over she will go!
