Beach the Winter Blues...

Yesterday was Isabel's sixth birthday and it was a BUSY day! At her school, each student gets one 'special' week each year called the Super Kid Week. The kid gets to do something special each day and on the final day, the parents get to come in with an activity and a treat for the students. I scheduled Isabel's Super Kid Week to be the week before her birthday, but with her flu and the snow days, she lost half of her special week, which bumped the days to the week of her birthday. So, on Friday Jason, Ashlen, and I went to her school and I did a little 'Science Magic' demonstration and brought frosted sugar cookies for the kids. Then, rushed back to an afternoon of work, then rushed around to get to her party. For her birthday this year, she wanted a pool party....yes, a pool party in JANUARY!!! So, we rented the indoor pool and party room at 'Five Points' in Washington. The theme was 'Beach the Winter Blues'...

Usually, this would be a picture smorgasbord for me, but the lighting in the pool wasn't great and about halfway through the party, she started to look pretty somber. She assured me that she was having fun, just very tired! It was a long day for all of us, but lots of fun!!!
